Effects of applying lime on the properties of acid soil and the leaves quality in flue-cured tobacco

The effect of applying lime in acid soil on soil biochemical properties ，leaves growth and quality of flue。cured tobacco was examined．The results show that applying lime in acid soil can not only increase the quantities of soil bacteria，actinomycetes and cellulose-decomposing bacteria but also significantly enhance the activities of soil urease，phosphatase ，cellulosase and peroxidase．750～1125kg／hm² of lime applied in the soil of pH5．2 can improve the root growth，yield and quality of tobacco leaves ．
